Proudly wearing miniatures of their fathers’ medals, we were joined this week by two couples from East Kent in the United Kingdom, Lindsay and Ken Thacker and Janet and Edward Barkway.
They come for the Siege Bell and in time for Anzac day and visit several memorials to lay wreaths and commemorate their own fathers and veterans from the UK and Malta.

Lyndsay explains
The miniature medals of deceased relatives are always worn on the right.’

Edward Barkway is the Chairman of the British Legion Branch in Deal, Kent. His wife Janet says
Sadly Captain Jack McNulty who served with the Royal Marines in WW2 was unable to join us in Malta this year because at the age of 94 he is quite frail and had some difficulty with insurance cover”
And what do they enjoy about Malta? The culture as well as always being able to discover and visit somewhere new. This week it was Palazzo Falson in Mdina

And the food? Of course, it has to be pasta !
In a nutshell, so proud to be Maltese, so proud to be British. ❤️
